About Our Founder

Welcome to We Empower Foundation!

I'm Jasmine Varghese, and I am the founder of We Empower Foundation. I am from Houston, Texas, and currently a junior in high school.

My Story

Just two years ago, I volunteered in a refugee neighborhood in Houston as a Christian missionary. Every weekend, I'd gather with children, teaching songs and sharing Bible verses. Seeing their resilience left a lasting impact on me, and it made me realize there was an urgent need for support, especially for refugee children. That's why I created the We Empower Foundation to make a real difference in their lives. Education and support are key to helping refugee children not just survive but thrive, in the face of adversity. I have made it my mission to provide them with the resources and tools they need to build a brighter future.

Our Mission

At We Empower Foundation, our mission is to empower refugee children by providing comprehensive education face-to-face as well as online resources on physical and mental health, fostering holistic well-being, and nurturing resilience. We believe in approaching this work with compassion and cultural sensitivity, recognizing the unique challenges these children face. By equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate life's obstacles, we're not just offering them support: we're offering them hope. Together, we're building a community where every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

Through this foundation, we hold face-to-face meetings with families in neighborhoods where refugees live. By teaching them through the We Empower Foundation curriculum, we equip them with the skills they need to foster a brighter, healthier future for generations to come.
